The Best Star Wars Gifts for Wannabe Jedi

The holidays are is upon us (Happy Life Day!) but you can't truly appreciate them without these Star Wars-themed gizmos and toys.

Kylo Ren Mask 1280

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, George Lucas really screwed up. He did not have Star Wars toys available during the 1977 holiday season. Kenner fixed that the following year with a movie merchandise rollout that every sci-fi, fantasy, and superhero flick of the last four decades has followed: glut the market with toys in case your film actually is the next coming of Star Wars. (Spoiler: it isn't.)

The only thing to come close: more Star Wars. It began again with Episode VII: The Force Awakens years ago, and the desire for merchandise from a galaxy far, far away increases as we get closer to Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters on Dec. 20.

With any discussion of Star Wars comes toys and plenty of other merch suitable for fans of any age. We combed through as much new Star Wars stuff as we could—no one can see all the licensed material Disney sells—and picked our favorites. Fellow geeks, get your orders in now, whether for yourself or a young padawan, and awaken the Force within you.

Arcade1Up Star Wars Arcade Cabinet

Arcade1Up Star Wars Arcade Cabinet-1
If you have fond memories of the Atari Star Wars arcade games, Arcade1Up's Star Wars Arcade Cabinet lets you relive them in your home in an attractive, nostalgic package, making it a PCMag Editors' Choice.

Star Wars - Jedi: Fallen Order

The big Star Wars game release of the year is here. Available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, Jedi: Fallen Order takes place after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. You play Cal Kestis, a un-trained padawan looking to stay out of the clutches of the new Empire, especially the newly minted Darth Vader and his Inquisitors and Purge Troopers.

Jedi: Fallen Order-Themed Special Edition Game Drive For Xbox

Jedi: Fallen Order-Themed Special Edition Game Drive For Xbox
There's no special version of the Xbox itself with a Jedi: Fallen Order motif, but there is a hard drive. This $100 Purge Trooper-emblazoned Seagate drive holds 2GB—that's about 50+ games—and includes special firmware to make Xbox connections quick, with seamless game play. It's exclusively available at Newegg.

Limited Edition Purge Trooper Xbox Wireless Controller & Xbox Pro Charging Stand

Limited Edition Purge Trooper Xbox Wireless Controller & Xbox Pro Charging Stand
Ready to take on Jedi: Fallen Order on your Xbox? You won't feel complete without this wireless Purge Trooper Xbox controller, complete with charger doc. It has all the usual Xbox Wireless controller features, but the looks of one of Vader's Inquisitor troopers—the last clones of Jango Fett himself. (Meaning, maybe these space nazis can actually hit the broad side of a Death Star with a blaster, unlike the regular Imperial jerks. And you can too, with this controller.)

LittleBits Droid Inventor Kit

4.0
LittleBits Droid Inventor Kit
Want your kid to get creative and learn a little something at the same time? Rather than the usual Star Wars toys, get them into robotics—and coding—with this LittleBits kit for building a working astromech droid in the style of R2-D2. Everything goes together magnetically, is color coded, and is way better than Erector Sets of the past.

Chewbacca Electronic Mask

It's the plastic mask that launched an online career! You too can roar like a Wookie and get yourself meme-ed with this mask, now exclusive to Amazon. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, stroll back in time via the video above to meet the woman who would become Chewbacca Mom after 11.9 million YouTube views.)

American Tourister 2-Piece Roll-Aboard Luggage Set

American Tourister 2-Piece Roll-Aboard Luggage Set
The best way to identify your bags at the airport is have something unique. American Tourister's hardside luggage featuring Star Wars characters in giant close-ups are exactly that. Choose from BB-8, Vader, R2, or an Imperial Stormtrooper. The bags with spinner wheels come as carry-ons or larger checked-in suitcases.

Death Star NASA Black T-Shirt

Death Star NASA Black T-Shirt
Is NASA secretly building a Death Star? They totally are. I can neither confirm nor deny that, but this shirt from Threadz is pretty cool either way. It comes in black or gray, sized up to XX-Large.

Ewok Costume for Baby

Ewok Costume for Baby
My son turns 2 in January, so that's enough time for someone to get this $25 Wicket-inspired Ewok costume for him for Christmas. He can wear it to bed every night until he outgrows it, or until my wife freaks out. It comes in sizes for 3 to 6 months, 6 to 12, 12 to 18, or 18 to 24.

Han Solo Carbonite Signature Roaster

Le Creuset has an entire line of high-end cookware with a Star Wars motif, including mini cocottes that resemble BB-8, R2, and C-3P0; a Vader dutch oven; a Porg-shaped pie bird (whatever that is), and Death Star and Falcon trivets. But the crown jewel is this 5.25-quart $450 signature cast-iron roaster featuring Han Solo encased in carbonite.

Han Solo Lucky Dice

Han Solo Lucky Dice
Ready to cosplay as the Correllian smuggler with the hairy best friend? You won't be anywhere near complete without the lucky dice that played a part in both Solo: A Star Wars Story as well as The Last Jedi. There are lots of knock-off versions, but this is the official licensed lucky dice set; you can tell because it comes in a box with Disney logo.

Supreme Leader Kylo Ren Force Rage Mask

Supreme Leader Kylo Ren Force Rage Mask
It's no secret that as of The Rise of Skywalker, Kylo Ren will be the supreme leader of the First Order (at least until some hidden puppet master with a face like a dried-up apple makes his appearance). But ol' Kylo's got rage issues, which will apparently manifest in his mask, reproduced here by Hasbro with a sound-controlled force-rage light effect. When a kid shouts in the mask, it glows. Rage spittle inside the mask is totally optional.

OtterBox Star Wars Cases

OtterBox Star Wars Cases
OtterBox has long been keeping smartphones safe. Now it keeps them safe in Star Wars art. Get one for your iPhone 7 on up or Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9+, featuring images of Vader, Storm Troopers, R2, Chewie, Boba Fett, the Falcon (from Solo: A Star Wars Story ), a droid scramble with all your favorite Rebel droids, and more.

Purge Trooper Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Purge Trooper Stainless Steel Water Bottle
Zazzle sells a number of excellent 24-ounce steel water bottles and other products featuring Star Wars iconography. My fave is the Purge Trooper, as seen in the Fallen Order game.

Rebel Starfighers: Owners' Workshop Manual

Rebel Starfighers: Owners' Workshop Manual
Want a complete history of the fighers used by the Rebels against the Empire and the First Order? This technical guide covers them all: X-wing, Y-wing, A-wing, U-wing, and B-wing.

The Black Series - Wave One Figures

The Black Series - Wave One Figures
Serious Star Wars toy collectors know the Black Series is Hasbro's highest quality line, especially for action figures. Where you find specific figures depends on the store you go to. This Amazon set of eight includes some characters we have yet to see or only recently met, including Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, Rey and new droid D-0, a Sith Trooper, The Mandalorian himself, Cal Kestis (from the Fallen Order game), Second Sister Inquisitor (also from the game), a First Order Stormtrooper, and an offworld Jawa. Hunt around and you'll find many more—there are around 102 of them in just this series.

The Force Coding Kit

Learn to code. Learn The Force. Which does a young padawan choose? Why not both? Kano's kit (including sensor hardware) can have kids programming a galaxy where they can control the sights, sounds, and appearance of the galaxy.

Ultimate D-O Interactive Droid

Ultimate D-O Interactive Droid
Target got the exclusive on the interactive D-O, the latest little droid in the Star Wars universe trying to out-cute R2-D2 (who was cute for the 80s, but the tin-can look hasn't aged well). This remote-controlled droid, coming soon to The Rise of Skywalker, can be controlled by a smartphone or tablet and response to sounds.

Galaxy Note 10+ Star Wars Special Edition

Galaxy Note 10+ Star Wars Special Edition

First announced last month, the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Star WarsSpecial Edition "features a sleek black body with red accents and comes with a red lightsaber-inspired S Pen, matching Galaxy Buds, a leather cover and a unique metal badge as a collector's item. It costs $1,299.99 (or $200 more than the regular Note 10+), and is available for pre-order now and arrives on Dec. 13.

Subscription to Disney+

Subscription to Disney+
In the past, if you wanted to gift someone the entire Star Wars saga, you bought VHS tapes, LaserDiscs, DVDs, or Blu-rays. But now we stream, and the only place to get the entire saga of the Skywalkers, plus all the extras, is Disney+. That includes the latest, greatest extra: The Mandalorian. There's no convenient way to give Disney+ as a gift as yet, not even with a gift card. But you can pay for someone else's account, or of course add people to your account as a new profile. (Read our review of Disney+.)

Lego Star Wars: Tantive IV

Lego Star Wars: Tantive IV
The Tantive IV isn't a household name like the Millennium Falcon, but you know it well. It's the ship being fired upon by the Empire in the opening seconds of the original Star Wars (A New Hope). It was essentially the personal starship of the House Organa of Alderaan, and thus the one-time private craft of Princess Leia. This is the first time it's out as a $199 full Lego kit, so nab it now.

Razer Stormtrooper Edition Product Lineup

Razer Stormtrooper Edition Product Lineup
New gaming gear in the guise of the Empire's jackbooted soldiers, Razer's newly decorated lineup of peripherals includes a $99 BlackWidow Lite silent mechanical keyboard, a $59.99 Atheris wireless mouse, and a $34.99 extended gaming mouse mat. All have the Stormtrooper motif, including the crest of the Empire on the ESC key, just in time for Star Wars Day 2019.
