    VPN'S, Internet Blockers, Personal Security...

With all the recent people being caught doing the stuff they have been doing for awhile now. Google, Facebook, Apple, NSA, FBI, IRS, DHS and the list goes on for miles. They have been monitoring, hacking viewing everyone's personal/private information for many different reasons.

The government, well they are the government. And those that can't be trusted never trust. :)
It has gotten much worse with the dictator obama and his wackos.

Google, Facebook & Apple, do it more for just making you worth more when they sell you. The more detailed information they have on you, the more you are worth when they sell you. Yes it is ILLEGAL, yes they get caught but never go to court. (In the United States) I'm hoping most people now know why. :)

I'm a computer geek, on my system 20 hours a day. Always reading, doing research, digging for the truth!

About five years ago, I got a hold of a picture, sent it on a private message on FB. Soon after my FB account was locked. I had to call and talk to them about what I had done wrong? Facebook told me it was the picture I sent. I asked what?? That was in a PRIVATE MESSAGE? Then they told me, they watch for key words and check those messages. I replied with really? What key word made you read mine and delete it and my account? They didn't reply, but did give me my account back.

The message said “that bitch is a felon” I don't see anything in there that would make them pull it aside to read. So you know they read them all :(

The picture I sent was a mug shot of Michelle Obama, she was disbarred for insurance fraud, jury tampering not sure on that. So I guess it was jail or lose your law license.

    Now the scary part;
Not only was the site I got the picture from gone, my message gone, but the picture was gone off my personal computer! I was so ready to put tin foil on my head! I got a program called NetLimiter, OMG all the IP address's (computers) that were hacking or trying to hack my system!

So then I went cyber security crazy! Yes most of my friends all say “well I don't have anything to hide” But that is not the point. The point is it's PRIVATE, my stuff and not illegal! They can't stop thousands of tons of drugs from coming into the US daily but they need to watch you? Go catch some real bad guys!

So here are a few things you can do to keep those you don't want on your computer off your computer!

Avoid the sites that you know, track and hack you, stay off the stupid porn sites.
Known trackers and hackers, Google, FaceBook, Apple. All three have paid hundreds of millions in fines in other counties.

    #2 Internet Browsers:
Use the most recent version always, use browsers that are known for security. Not on TV, pop up ads, attacked as junk-ware on everything you try to install.

    #3 VPN'S - Virtual Private Network
VPN'S are a secure tunnel, that nobody can see what you are saying, writing, browsing, posting. It's a secure connection between you and the other computer. When ever you log into your credit cards, bank accounts you are using their VPN. And the best part? When the United States crazy new government blocks a website you can still see it! Unless they have taken it down :(

Here are a few VPN sites:

    Open Source Open VPN
Your private path to access network resources and services securely

    Cisco VPN
Use VPN Client for Highly Secure Connectivity. Establish encrypted VPN tunnels with the Cisco VPN Client for highly secure remote connectivity for your mobile employees or teleworkers. Simple to deploy and use, our IPSecurity (IPsec) -based VPN client is compatible with all Cisco VPN products.

    VPN made simple
Encrypt your Internet and change your IP address. VPN4ALL combines enhanced VPN security, access to the fastest global VPN server network, and easy-to-use VPN software.

    Ipredator - based in Sweden
How it works, You'll exchange the IP address you get from your ISP for an anonymous IP address.
You get a safe/encrypted connection between your computer and the Internet.

A simple management tool for dnscrypt-proxy.
Not a VPN but will hide your IP

Pure VPN - Server location all over the world!
We Do Not Just Provide VPN Service.. We Provide Freedom on the Internet…

Not sure I trust anything but open source or out of the USA VPN'S.

    #4 File Encryption:
There are lots of really good file encryption programs. Down side NEVER lose the encryption key!

Make sure to keep it on a thumb drive, I would say 3 thumb drives, at three different locations. If you lose that key your never seeing your files again.

Here are a few file encryption sites:

    TrueCrypt - Open Source
Free open-source disk encryption software for Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X, and Linux

    Windows Built-In File Encryption

    File Encryption
File Encryption is free application to help users protect your their files and personal data by encrypting them into inaccessible, scrambled form which can be opened only after entering a correct password. File Encryption is released under GNU licence and it is free for personal or commercial use, without any restrictions. File Encryption is completely spyware or adware free.

    MEO File Encryption Software
Encrypt and decrypt files and keep your data secure
MEO is file encryption software for Mac or Windows that will encrypt or decrypt files of any type. Protect sensitive data against unauthorized viewers with the latest data encryption technologies to keep your documents safe and secure. You can easily send encrypted emails, or create self-extracting encrypted files so the receiver can open the encrypted files on any Windows or Mac computer without needing to install the encryption software on their machine.
A free version is available for non-commercial use.

    #5 Netlimiter:
Keep Track of who is keeping track of you. :)
NetLimiter is an ultimate internet traffic control and monitoring tool designed for Windows. You can use NetLimiter to set download/upload transfer rate limits for applications or even single connection and monitor their internet traffic. Along with this unique feature, Netlimiter offers comprehensive set of internet statistical tools. It includes real-time traffic measurement and long-term per-application internet traffic statistics. There are 3 NetLimiter editions available, Pro, Lite and freeware Monitor.

For me I use Netlimiter, OpenVPN, Ipredator, MEO and TrueCrypt :)
You can never be to safe!

Sorry for any missing words :) I'm no writer, just a super geek!
