It's kind of slim pickings on these in the free section :)
I would start with one of the free ones and if you like it.
Buy DarkBASIC Pro :)
Free Game Builders:
My Game Builder
MyGameBuilder.com is a free website for kids (and big kids!) who love games and want
to start making their own. To make games, you draw art (or find friends to help you),
add some action rules to the art, and then place the pieces on maps. Without any programming,
you have a game that you can play and share with others.
The site has been online since mid 2007 and we add features based on the suggestions from our
users in the online MyGamebuilder discussion forums at http://MyGameBuilder.com/forum.

creation of complex animations.

3D Game Builder I suggest you use Comodo Dragon browser - built in translator.
I downloaded and installed this one seems pretty easy to use no spyware or junkware.
It has a nice little tutorial on the first run. Each time you start it, it will ask for
a donation, donate or just close the window. Select English or Portuguese.
Over all good game building starter software.
