Could these files be my problem and can I delete them?

I would download the newest one and delete all but the newest one. It looks like you have your daily website back-ups, then a total server back-up. That does tell you how much space your sites are using. They are gzip which has horrible compression but zip really fast. (less server load) So all your website are using around 40 gigabytes so you should have 210 gigs free.

Is it not on the picture? The latest one there is Jan 29 2018 37.23gigs?
Then I would download all of them and still only leave the latest one online. If it's smaller is it one not in the screen shot and one after you did the clean-up?
