You can download Linux ISO's from:

I will be updating this post with direct links as I have time.
Most versions of Linux will install along side Windows so you would have a dual boot system. Most will automatically resize your hard and install Linux on a very small partition.
This is not Windows Linux doesn't need 50% of your memory to run or 50 gigs of hard drive space. Or like Windows 10 500 gigs of hard drive space so it can store 300 gigs in
your app data temp folder. lol If you re-partition your hard drive yourself leaving unallocated space most versions will find that and install there. (All versions of Linux Mint do that)
And yes everything you do in MAC or Windows outside a few programs run the same in Linux only three to ten times faster. Using Linux for one week then going back to Windows or Mac
you will be ruined. It would be like driving a V12 Lamborghini for a week (Linux) then going back to Windows or Mac will be like getting into a 1968 VW Bug. All the browsers are the same
only much faster, videos and pictures look 100% better in Linux. Watching Netflix on the Brave browser in Linux looks great, watching it in Windows 10 is like sand in my eye's. VLC the same
videos in VLC in Linux just look so much better then they do suffering through watching them in windows.
Windows programs I know that do not run or run well in Linux. (Many non-spyware Windows programs will run in Linux under Wine for Windows)
1. Adobe Photoshop - Gimp does everything Adobe Photoshop does but you will need to learn how to use it and it's 100% FREE.
2. Quicken / Quickbooks (that name make me laugh it's so slow) - GNU Cash runs in Linux, Windows and Mac and does everything Quicken / Quickbooks does but again you need to learn it and it's 100% FREE.
3. MS Office - LibreOffice, OpenOffice or WPS Office all run in Linux, Windows and Mac. LibreOffice and OpenOffice are again 100% Free. WPS Office has free and paid versions.
3. Games only a few Windows games will not run in Linux. Install "Steam" run them under "Proton" out of a 116 games I tested only 6 will not run in Linux. And just like watching a video once you play a Windows game on Linux you will never want to go back to Windows. Downside Any Windows games not in Steam just do not run or run right. THANK YOU STEAM FOR SUPPORTING LINUX!
If you really need to run some Windows ONLY software. You can do what I do I run Windows 7 & 8 inside Linux in Virtual Machine. (Virtual Box again 100% free)
The major advantage to this is you can upgrade to the latest and fastest hardware and still install Windows 7 or 8! If you have any new hardware it will only let you install the worst OS ever made Windows 10.
But in VM you can install any OS you like on any hardware you like!
Last but not least the most important part of Linux. EVERYTHING WORKS ON THE FIRST BOOT! No yellow keys telling you to DOWNLOAD a driver to get your system connected to the internet!
On the first boot your video, sound, network, keyboard, mouse, printer all work. Linux will then find better drivers to improve how they work. Instead of telling you
"YOU HAVE NO INTERNET - YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD DRIVERS" LOL That just always cracks me up about Windows!
Linux Boot Repair CD's.I'm not sure where I got these maybe "Hiren". But I have used them several times on Fedora to Xubuntu to repair boot / grub problems. Restore grub after an image restore.

Linux install and or Live CD/DVD's. Some versions of Linux have the "Live CD/DVD" on the same .ISO as the install. Some they are a separate download.

Debian 64 bit.
One of the most popular and stable Linux operating systems for every day use. Everything is tested and tested again before it's released to the public.
"netinist" = network install it's the smallest version and everything else that you add or want is downloaded on the install.
Click the link below to download from

DVD-1 = The largest download full install. There are still more features you can download and install.
But this version should have anything 90% of the users will ever need. There are two other DVD's you can check at the link below, but it's a REALLY slow
download probably much faster to just add the features with terminal.

You can download any of these .ISO's burn it to a DVD or USB thumb drive. Boot to the DVD or USB drive and
try the live version. If you like it click "Install" on the desktop. Then choose a few simple things keyboard, country
timezone. Choose install along side Windows or wipe out Windows and install just install Linux Mint. I would choose
to wipe out Windows if you have Windows 10.
