Purchase a Computer

THESE PRICES ARE ONLY FOR MEMBERS OF HAPPY AS IS

I get lots of people asking about the cost of building a custom desktop so here are my prices. Please remember computer parts change price daily. So if you want one it will be the exact price listed unless something has gone up or down in price. If you need something not listed just ask. Like better video, more memory, more SSD's, faster CPU's.

All the SSD's are Crucial only.
All the memory is Crucial only. You can ask for different memory but I will NOT build any system with Gskill it's just bad slow memory.

Then according to everything you build 7th gen CPU's ONLY run Windows 10. This is a LIE you can still run Windows 7, 8, 8.1 on 7th generation CPU's! It's just more tweaking, no mouse on install and turning off the Microsoft NAG-WARE saying this CPU is not supported in Windows 7 or 8. YES the it will tell you that while you are RUNNING Windows 7 or 8 on a 7th generation cpu! LOL

8th & 9th generation intel CPU's and the newest AMD's will ONLY run Windows 10 or Linux. Everyone should be using Linux anyway!

    A few easy tips:
HT = Hyper Threading (Yeah I know it doesn't work - but it does make things finish twice as fast and benchmarks higher!)
Double the Threads on a CPU and you have Hyper Threading.
    Cores = CPU
    4 cores = 4 CPU's - 4 threads.
    4 cores + HT = 8 CPU's - 8 threads.
    6 cores = 6 CPU's - 6 threads.
    6 cores + HT = 12 CPU's - 12 threads.
    10 cores = 10 CPU's - 10 threads.
    10 cores + HT = 20 CPU's - 20 threads.

These prices are just the COMPUTER no monitor, no keyboard, no mouse.
These are all custom builds no HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Toshiba off the shelf Costco, BestBuy, Walmart junk.

The first group are all Windows 7 of course they cost more because Microsoft is forcing everyone into Winblows 10. I'm personally upgrading to a 9th generation CPU system and will ONLY be running Linux! MS isn't going to force me into using Winblows 10 they will just lose a customer.

Thanks for your reply, I never saw it before, I thought it would be a separate answer as incoming, I didn't know to click on my message to you..........
    Question
#1.  So, I don't want a "tower" .  I am working in a small area in a loft (that does get hot in the summer), is this a problem?  What I liked about the HP was the "tower" was on the back of the screen.  Plus I want to be able to take the desktop downstairs to the bedroom if I am doing my classes on line, where I will be cool in the bedroom that has the air conditioner.  Is this a problem?

#2.  Im a woman, I like "nice looking equipment.  I liked the screen of the hp because it did look like the Imac only smaller.  What kinds of screens do you have and their prices?  Will they look nice like the Imac screen.

#3.  I really liked the hp because of the screen and clean lines, can I see the screen I would be buying and price list.

#4.  I trust YOU, I was ready to buy the hp, but will stay with you.  Do you have an estimate for transfering my stuff to the new computer, Charles stuff to mine? AND setting up my new printer?  Guesstimate? I have a little money to start a business, but like anything it will take me time to get clients etc.  so now Im alittle scared about how much it will cost to set this all up...

#5 .  Either 4 or 5 under the Windows computers is fine, which is the better one? The more expensive one I assume?

    Thanks Gary.

#1 those are all mid-towers, they can be mini-towers. But like the ALL-IN-ONE they smaller and smaller it is the HOTTER it will get. If the room is hot the ALL-IN-ONE will run REALLY SLOW & HOT! If you're going to be moving it back & fourth why not stay with a laptop? You could get a 17 inch? Some of those have super nice screens up to 4K that the HUMAN EYE CAN'T SEE ANYWAY! LOL

#2 & #3 You can get any screen you like, 1920X1080 (1K), 3840X2060 (So called 4K) or real 4K 7780X4120 (which they call 8K) LOL Who knows 1920 - 2160 are super sharpe depending on contrast levels. So many peaople think they can see 4k which NO HUMAN EVER BORN CAN SEE! Because the 4K screens have totally higher contrast and different lighting. So the SALE IS MADE! LOL I GOOD 1920X1080 screen will look just as good depending on size and distance from the screen. I have posted it a few times. So bottom line YES you can get a really nice screen for around $120 at 22 to 32 inch wide.

#4 This is an OPEN forum so anyone can read it so I won't post prices herebut they are always fair. Private MESSAGES are at the top Right in the lighter box.

#5 LOL Yes the higher priced one comes with a 4 gig memory video card. Which you may not need and can be added later. But lol Video card video/screen always looks better!

    Here is a picture of a mini-tower:
    They are all around this size 8.20"(high) x 9.40"(wide) x 15.70"(long)

But all of these would have keyboard, mouse & monitor you would need to move back & fourth.

How many hours do you think this will take to convert Charlie to my computer, mine to the new one, and hook up a new printer?  What will it cost approximately????
    Thanks.....
