First there is NO GUARANTEE these will work it is Windows 10 and it is complete GARBAGE!
These have worked for me on about 90% of the Windows 10 computers it's lots of work it needs to be redone after any MAJOR UPDATE or UPGRADE.
Really people Linux doesn't have any of these problems and is just so must faster!
The only real fix for Windows 10 is install Linux!
I make these changes to stop the Windows 10 micro freezes:
Download and install WinAero Tweaker.
Go down the list and disable "Power Throttling"
Then disable anything else you do not need, less things running for no reason will speed up the sluggish Windows 10.
Enable "
Take Ownership" on the context menu.
Then open the Registry editor and go to this KEY:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\AppXSvcDouble click
AppXSvc, then double click and change
Start from
3 to
4 (
That will turn off the Microsoft app store - NO MORE MS APP STORE)
Then in Control Panel (Install Classic Shell Menu to get control panel back on the menu) under
Power Options:
(Or if you like that HUGE ad-ware menu in Windows 10 open PC Settings and type "Control Panel" in the search box.
View By: change from Categories to Large Icons)
Balanced or Performance - Left click
Change Plan Settings.
Left click
Change advanced power settings.
Open
PCI Express and change the settings to -
OFF
Or just select the
Performance Option yes it burns more power while the computer is running. If it's a desktop not running on batteries just use this one.
Then open
taskmanager (right click the taskbar) and look for "
Cortana" (IT NEEDS TO BE SHUT OFF - NOT JUST DISABLED)
1. Left click
Cortana to expand it, Right click on the bottom Cortana file and left click open file location.
2. Right Click the folder "
Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy" "
TAKE OWNERSHIP".
3. Add your account to the security settings. Right Click properties, left click "
Security" tab.
4. Left Click "
Edit"
5. Left click Add. Add your username - LEFT CLICK ON YOUR USERNAME IN THE Group or user names box.
6. Check all the boxes in the "
Permissions for Everyone" box. Click OK Lots of errors ignore them, click cancel.
7. Original "Properties box is still open. Left click "
Advanced" The owner should be your user account.
8. Left click the "
Effective Access" tab.
9. User/Group left click "
Select a user" search for and add your username. Click OK.
10. On the original "
Properties Box" again click OK. MORE ERRORS LOL It is MS! Click cancel it has made the changes you need to rename the folder.
On to really killing Cortana.
1. Make sure
Cortana is NOT RUNNING. Right click, left click
END TASK. This is Microsoft's number one spyware agent in Windows 10
so it will not shut off the first or second or third time normally 8 to 10 times. KEEP ENDING IT until it REALLY ends!
2. Once it's really off rename the folder to anything you like "
Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy-nospyware".
Restart the computer that will end or slow down the Micro-Freezing.
BUT ONLY UNTIL THE NEXT MAJOR UPDATE OR UPGRADE then you will need to do them all over again!
Each time I just add a number to the end of the folder "nospyware2"
Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy-nospyware2Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy-nospyware3Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy-nospyware4One more time there is NOTHING you do on Windows that you can't do better on LINUX!
Gaming? 80% of all the Windows games play on Steam "Proton"
Videos, Netflix, Amazon, email, Office work, web work... all work in Linux.
And once you watch ONE movie or play one game on Linux you'll wonder why you ever used Windows!
The only problem with Linux is AMD video card drivers. AMD does like to make drivers for LTS Linux because they don't want to support their video cards for 8 years.
So either dump AMD/ATI or don't use LTS versions. Since I only use Xubuntu LTS I only use Nvidia.
As always any questions just ask.
