HARLEY-DAVIDSON SPORTSTER S aka Custom 1250

  • So Harley Davidson has the best and fastest motor ever made by Harley "The Revolution Motor". And we have the birth of the VROD - VRSC V-Twin-Racing-Street-Custom. Then all the different models, Muscle, Night Rod, Street Rod, Destroyer... Then they drop the line and return to the standard ever so SLOW Harley motors and just keep raising the cubic inches, but still no HP.

Then they jump back to the Revolution Motor with the Revolution 2 a better motor then the VROD's. Higher compression (VROD 11.3:1 REV2 13:1) more HP VROD 120-140 REV2 150 HP and they put it in a dirt bike (Pan American)!

Now they put the Revolution 2 it in a street bike!
And just like always they blow it :( they lower the HP to 120 and put it in a Sportster! So it may or may not be faster then a VROD depending on the VROD model. It has pipes that will be right on your butt while riding, it has a THREE GALLON GAS TANK. I can almost deal with the ugly engine for the speed. But 3 gallon tank, tiny sportster and $14,999 price tag and one can only think HD has lost their mind again.

They did say they will be releasing more models with the REV2 motor. We can only hope there will be one in the $20 rage with real power, lower pipes, nicer headlights...

  • Another article shared on the 1130cc forum. A more detailed look at the Harley Davidson Sportster S 1250T. It explains more of why it's has less power then the Pan American.

"The motors are different" The first thing I noticed they lowered the compression on the Sportster S it only has 12:1 instead of 13:1 in the Pan American.

I have no idea why Harley hates horse power? Harley started as RACE BIKES and has held 37 of the last 50 years first place titles. But for some reason when comes to street bikes they just UNDER POWER them. Get this Revolution 2 motor out of dirt bike, out of a Sportster, bump UP THE HP 150 to 180+ and put it in a cruiser and I will get one.
