If you are using Windows lol I feel bad for you! If you are using Linux you won't have these problems.

Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & 10 will all have problems randomly losing connection to things that worked fine yesterday or even five minutes ago. Here are a few things to try that fix 99% most Windows problems.

Problems on local work station or server - try these on the local work station/computer.
    1. Always with Windows restart the computer when anything stops working. If this doesn't fix it go to number 2.
(Software, Hardware, Sound, Printers, Monitors, Keyboards, Mouse...)

    2. Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord, unplug the device (Printers, Monitors, Keyboards, Mouse...) that's not working. If the device has power (Printer, Scanner, Monitor) also shut it down and unplug it. Then plug everything back in and turn everything back on. If this doesn't fix it go to number 3.

    3. Check the inside of the computer if you see a ton of dust clean it. Check the wires and cables make sure they are all plugged in and working. Replace any that look bad, replace the USB cables if you have extra's. If it's still not working the device maybe need to be replaced. Check it on another computer if you have one.

On the server if software, hardware, sound, printers, monitors, keyboards, mouse...
    1. Log off the server NOT DISCONNECT log off. Restart the local work station/computer, check to see if that fixed the problem? If not go to number 2.

    2. If the local work station/computer and server not having problems with software, hardware, sound, printers, monitors, keyboards, mouse... You will need to restart the server and it can only be done with an account that has Administrative rights.

Open a Dos command prompt. (either on the start menu in a folder called "Dos" or just search command prompt)
Once you have found it - Right Click and run as Administrator.

In the box type in or copy and paste: shutdown /r
If the line does not say "C:\Windows\system32>" YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE TO THAT DIRECTORY.
    If it says "C:\user\your-name>"
    1. Type in or copy and paste: CD\ (hit enter. it should look like this after C:\>)
    2. Type in or copy and pastes: CD Windows\system32 (hit enter now it should look like this C:\Windows\system32>)
    3. Type in or copy and paste: shutdown /r

    Hit ENTER.
You and everyone on the server will get a warning that Windows is shutting in less then one minute. It should take one to two minutes before you can log back on. Check to see it the problem is fixed? If not time to call your IT people.

    Terminal Scanner unlimited licenses

Had to boot everyone from the server to re-install the scanner license. It looks like I need to run that command after each workstation install. I added the scanner software to #1, #6 & 10 in Costa Mesa and #2 in Santa Ana Last night. I ran the DOS commands to upgrade the license on the server after the install on #1 in Costa Mesa. But it looks like I need to install it on the local computer (workstation) then run the command on the server each time.

I had to boot everyone off the server for a few seconds to finish the licenses. It should be fine now MAKE SURE TO LEAVE ALL THE COMPUTERS ON TONIGHT.

Why can't someone just send a message?
Does he have the scanner software?
The printer is setup, printer network setup, need and email address?
NOT GMAIL IT IS NOT LEGAL ACCORDING HIPPA TO SEND MEDICAL RECORDS THROUGH GMAIL.

I printer software is already installed. I just need to know if it or he has scanner software like the Xerox scanner?

    Talked to Fernado,
that printer/scanner will not work like the xerox scanner.
It can do what I showed Lupe the other day. It can scan to a folder, it can scan to as many folders as you need.
I setup a test folder already on #4 "CM-SCAN" it is availble on the scanner to scan to. It can also scan to email or fax.

Fernano said it should be able to scan to the server TO A FOLDER ON THE SERVER. It won't be able to scan to a patients folder in Axeium unless
that patients folder was setup on the scanner as a scan to folder on the server.

I don't know what the kyocera does?

Does the kyocera do what I wrote in the post right above this one?

    EDIT: July 09 2019 11:45AM
    From HP Support
"HP enterprise MFP series devices are equipped with scan functions like scan to email, scan to network folder etc and the feature of scanning from PC or scan software is not available with this series."

The HP M527 can ONLY scan to a network folder on the LOCAL NETWORK.

It CAN NOT SCAN TO A REMOTE SERVER.

    Scan to Email:
