File synchronization software, back-up & sync all your folders & files, music, pictures, docs, across all computers, phones, tablets. Some have cloud back-up, so your files are saved out there in cyberspace :)

I'm hoping to add free cloud back-up for Happy As Is members very soon.

First I will start with the Free file synchronization software:

    FreeFileSync:
Does not have a cloud back-up, run cross platform, windows, mac, linux.
This means you can have, Mac, Windows & Linux computers all staying in sync.
That is a great perk! You can also run this off a USB thumb drive.

FreeFileSync helps you synchronize files and synchronize folders being a completely free Open Source software. Its design is focussed on user productivity and runtime performance to help get your work done quickly without getting in the way.

    Made By

    Website & Download
    http://freefilesync.sourceforge.net/

    DirSync Pro (JAVA)
Does not have a cloud back-up. I don't think it runs cross platform, windows, mac, linux.

DirSync Pro is a small, but powerful utility for file and folder synchronization. DirSync Pro can be used to synchronize the content of one or many folders recursively. Use DirSync Pro to easily synchronize files from your desktop PC to your USB-stick (/Externa HD/PDA/Notebook, ...). Use this USB-stick (/Externa HD/PDA/Notebook, ...) to synchronize files to another desktop PC.

Using DirSync Pro you can make incremental backups. In this way you'll spare lots of time because you don't have to copy all the files each time you want to update your backup; only new/modified/larger files would be copied. DirSync Pro provides some preconfigured modes (e.g. Mirror, Backup, Contribute, …) for common synchronization and backup tasks and some custom modes in which the user could set up the synchronization behavior to meet specific wishes. Prior to synchronization, DirSync Pro perfoms an analysis on files and folders and detect any kind of changes to any file/directory in the source. If a file is for example modified, removed, deleted, renamed in the source DirSync Pro synchronizes the destination accordingly. DirSync Pro detects also changes to file meta data (e.g. DOS attributes, POSIX file ownerships/group/permissions) and could preserve them to the destination file/directories.

Allway Sync Free & Pro versions ($19.95)
Does not have cloud back-up that I can see, runs on windows.

Allway Sync is Free for moderate personal use
It's free Sync Software (with limitations,). Does not contain any spyware, adware or malware. You can install this PC sync software on as many computers as you need. Licenses for business use are available.

Free Trial-Ware, then after the free trial you pay.
Most prices depend on how much back-up / sync you need.

    SugarSync
Does have cloud back-up, I believe it will back-up cross platform. Windows, Mac & mobile. It says you can get up to 32gigs free, not sure what you need to do to get that. Then it says 30 days free trial, but under Personal it says "sign-up know and 5 gigs free"
It's comparison cart is NOT correct, they take features away from DropBox, Google, Skydrive. It may just be a really old comparison table.

    SO MANY CHOICES

For me if I needed cloud back-up I would use Skydrive. Very easy to use, 10 gigs free without doing anything to earn it. :)

If I didn't need cloud back-up. I would use FreeFileSync. Very easy to use 100% FREE, open source. :)

    Cloud = Online

As always any questions...please ask :)

    Comodo Sync, Cloud, Back-Up

I have been really happy with everything made by this company so far. So I thought why not give this a try! It has tons of features all free up to 10 gigs! (A few places on their site it will say 5 gigs, but it is 10)

The download takes seconds, the sign-up lol well that takes a little longer. :) You will need to sign-up, verify the sign-up email, sign-in about three times. Then it's smooth and very very easy!

I'm using both Microsoft SkyDrive & Comodo. Comodo has much more to offer than Skydrive.
I may just end up switching to Comodo Back-Up 100%

As a super geek I would say two thumbs up to this Sync, Back-up, Online Back-up Cloud system!

    Backup anywhere
Network drive, external drive, FTP, DVD/CD, ISO, zip, online storage – you name it, Comodo Backup can copy to it

    Smart Profiles
Comodo Backup will find and categorize all your music, videos, photos and mail so you can immediately start copying what's important to you

    Incremental and differentials
Comodo Backup gives you the flexibility to run any combination of full, incremental, differential and sychronized backup types.

    Free Online Storage Space
Each user gets 10 GB of highly secure, online storage which you can access from anywhere and sync between computers

    Online Drive
Play music, watch movies and edit documents directly from storage as you would a local disk. You don't have to download the file first and any changes you make will be synchronized with your local copy.

    Command line & scripting
Advanced users can create script files for backup, restore, mount and synchronize operations.

    Synchronized
Our powerful synchronization feature keeps your data set consistent across your computers, laptops and online storage

    Volume shadow copy compatibility
To ensure data consistency we integrated Volume Shadow Copy technology, which allows files in use to be copied.

    Versatile scheduling options
You control the exact date and time that your backup should run (even if it's the middle of the night)

    Windows integration
Comodo BackUp seamlessly integrates with Windows Explorer so that you can just select the folders or files you want to back up, right click on them and quick start the backup wizard.

    Encryption & Compression
Choose from a wide range of compression and encryption algorithms to keep your data secure while reducing it's size to a minimum

    Mountable Backup
Mount your backup as a virtual disk so you can explore and change it's content as per your needs

    Instant Feedback
Comments? Suggestions? Comodo Backup has a built-in feedback utility so you can submit your thoughts without leaving the interface.

    Streamlined & Task Orientated
Our software interface doesn't just look good - it's the result of thousands of hours of usability testing to make sure you accomplish what you want, fast!

    Effortless setup and management
Start copying files minutes after installation. Once underway, the software will silently copy files in the background without interruption. If you delayed creating a backup in the past because you thought it would be complicated then Comodo Backup is the software for you.

You can get 100 gigs for $7.99 per month.
If you pay by the year you get two free months 14 months for $79.95.
If you pay by the year that's $5.71 per month.
Microsoft SkyDrive is still the cheapest, but for $7.10 more per year.
You have a complete back-up & sync system, not just whats in your Cloud Folder. :)

    You can get it here:

So, I watched this whole thing about the new, improved https://www.mega.co.nz/... what do you think of this as cloud storage and the encryption? This guy sounds like you! LOL (the whole deleting of admin's abilities to spy on its users)

    https://www.mega.co.nz/#privacycompany

Also, on the happyasis search bar, I searched for 'Cloud Storage' and this discussion didn't show up... only as file synchronization ... which is something I wouldn't think to search for... just saying...:)

Yeah the government hates Mr .com :) For his file sharing, cloud but did you notice where it's at now? .nz :) Now Obama can't touch it! Unless of course he uses his MIGHTY DRONES!

I think his stuff is safe, I didn't list it because I was waiting to see if they shut him down again. :(

I changed the thread name so people should be able to search for "Cloud Storage"
I can't believe that everyone doesn't think geek!

Uh... I don't like THAT at all! But the comments below article argue that it's a machine algorithm that flags particular files with 'nudity' or 'illegal' content and you are sent an email that says you are "locked out unless you delete file, Yes or No?" So that leads me to believe that it is unencrypted on MS servers or at the very least that MS has the encryption key? I understand all points of trying to get rid of child pornography and stuff, but when they say, private and secure, EXCEPT for "la-di-da", I get that creepy crawly feeling of someone following my every move and riffling through my stuff! And you know how I am about my stuff! LOL

And yes, beast, I understand and would actually search for file sync-ing... I, just at that moment, thought of 'storage' verses 'sync-ing' because we'd just spoke of it. You and your, "Just look at the big ol search bar at the top!" I did, and couldn't find anything!!! It needed BOTH searchable phrases. Go figure... LOL

You've failed to mention JustCloud as a choice but since they use google servers, I figure that about covers it... LOL

EDIT: OMGAWD!!! When I added it as a "link" to the post, it's now referafriending me!!! Just like google... *Shakes head* LOL Hurry cuz there's only TWO Left!!!
